The expectation for our children’s behavior lands somewhere between the Von Trapps and the Lord of the Flies. Especially at pizza places.
Our children yesterday may have eaten the kids from the Lord
of the Flies after beating them with their shoes. The threats of “if you do that
again…” went completely unheeded, until it got to “you’ll go to bed without
dinner.” And it reached that point at a pizza place right before we ordered.
Steam came out of my ears and we walked back to our flat hungry.
There we were greeted by a bag of food from our incredibly
gracious hosts. We ate in the privacy of our own space where the children were
suddenly very well behaved and could have been in public again.
Our lovely hosts also showed us the sights of the Golden Circle. Steam also comes out of the ground.
There was also Geysir, and some waterfall chasing.
Geysir. Quite calm these days, even when rowdy children are around. |
Gullfoss. Looks like steam, but it's just mist. |
A happier moment (or a little house for the Lord of the Flies to live in) |
Yes, you guessed - more steam. |
